Rev up your writing 5.12.08
I remember when i was a small child, around Christmas all the kids would muse about Santa. We would all congregate and postulated that he was fat, and lived in the north poll. He had a supple smile and never disregarded children. When I found out that Santa was not real I was very somber. Today i am nostalgic about when Santa was real to me.

What would you want your utopia to be known for?
I would want my utopia to be known for the intelligence of its citizens and the level of its technology. I would want my utopia to be very advanced.

what is the purpose of government?
Th purpose of government is to keep order. It manages resources and makes sure that things stay organized. without government people would just run all over the place, doing what ever they wanted to. Government keeps society running.

I think that most revolutions start out spontaneous. Some one get treated unfair or something and they retaliate. But after a little while the revolution becomes organized and planned out. If a revolution was just spontaneous it wouldn’t be able to hold together. The “man” would be able to rip it apart to easily.

Snipinshoe’s utopia
IÂ think that snipinshoe has a good idea with his utopia. It is a good idea to not have memory of previous life because this way people can start fresh. The only problem with this is that the same mistakes could happen. There should be a record and the “president” should be able to look into the book. The idea of programing peoples brains to not reconize rasism is also something that i will reflect into my utopia. The idea of ralling people together to decide if the polititions should vote on a law is a good idea, but whether or not people would actually do this is in question.

When does real teamwork happen?
Real teamwork happens when it is vital to survive. Survive, however, could mean many things. It could mean to keep a job, or to actually stay alive. If a group is stranded then team work mus occur. It is harder to obtain true teamwork outside of life and death situation. For this to happen each member of the group must truly respect and trust each other. This doesn’t occur all that often in an every day situation, at least not what i see.

Darfur Tragedy
The UN has called the Darfur tragedy the worst in the world because it is a man-made crisis characterized by big human rights violations. Hundreds of thousands of deaths and over 2 million displacements. More that 200,000 people have fled to Chad. The malnutrition rate is very high and thousand of kids require therapeutic feeding to live. Camps live in constant fear of disease and those outside camps live with the fear of attack. The article says that the janjaweed are the cause of this crisis

ELT: 2/27/08 :Change
We believe change forces us to constantly adapt to the new technology being developed. If we don’t adapt, we will fall behind and possibly not be able to keep up with modern society. With the world changing it provides insight into new ideas.

I have greatly enjoyed having the team laptops this year. Last year i thought we used the computers allot, but the only class we really used them extensively was in language arts for our blogs. We also used them in social studies and a little in science. However, this year we use the laptops in every class. We use them frequently and usually at least a couple times a week. Also this year the kids in geometry use the laptops in math were as last year we didn’t use them in math at all. Also because of having more laptop access we have begun using a larger variety of programs. Instead of mostly using blogs we now use things like voice thread.
