The animals will rebel because not a lot of the animals right now agree with Napoleon’s ideas. Also, Boxer is starting to stop believing Napoleon. Until this point Boxer always believed Napoleon, but now he isn’t. Boxer will probably lead the rebellion and the other animals will follow because Boxer is so big and the animals know that they could win. If Boxer doesn’t start to rebel, then the other animals won’t rebel because they don’t really have a chance to take over. The only way that the other animals will rebel is if Boxer also does.

Denver is located where it is mostly because of gold. It is close enough to the mountain gold mines without actually being in the mountains. This allows miners to get there easy enough and when they are not mining they can live a more normal life in the city. It was made of bricks because there was no wood. That let it stay around for much longer than the now barren ghost towns in the mountains.

Denver was also here because tuberculosis was treated here with the sunlight that is available basically the whole year. Once the sick people came here, they stayed because they really liked it. That really helped grow the Denver population.

Colfax Avenue is the longest continuous, non-highway road in the USA. Since it is, there has to be a city that it runs through. That city is Denver. Since Colfax is the “Heart of Denver,” it is considered the concrete river. Denver doesn’t have a major river, so Colfax Avenue is basically our main river.

    “1891,” I say out loud.

“What event do you want to visit,” I hear the robotic voice say back.

    “The invention of basketball.”

“Traveling to 1891, the invention of basketball,” the voice repeats.

Suddenly the room starts to spin. Flashing colors of orange and red splash the brightly painted room. The thought of being the inventor of the first time machine races through my mind, but the thought of finally meeting one of my all-time favorite people, Dr. James Naismith, quickly diminishes it. As I look outside the window I see many things pass by, including Neil Armstrong on the moon and the Wright brothers with the first airplane ever.

“Wow,” I exclaim to myself. “I never thought I would actually make it this far. I wonder…”

Thud. My thought stops as I look into the gym, which is apparently supposed to be a basketball court. “Where is the hoop and the basketball that I am so used to?” I think. “All I can see is a couple of peach baskets and a heavy looking leather ball.”

“Hey, why aren’t you in uniform?” I hear a low, thundering voice say as I am examining the court.

I turn around and see a tall and kind of old looking man. He looks like he might be a teacher, but who could he be? Then it hits me. He is obviously Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball.

“Oh hi, I am not in your class, I am just observing your new sport,” I answer in excitement.

“Well then sit down over there in those chairs.”

I walk over to find the chairs, half expecting bleachers and half expecting those really nice chairs that basketball players sit on. They were neither. “I have to sit on these old wooden chairs,” I thought to myself, but before I could figure out why, I heard the whistle blow and that low, thundering voice of Dr. Naismith tell everybody there to start the game.

“Wow this is nothing like regular basketball. Where are the bleachers and yelling fans? Where are the lines on the court, but most importantly, where is the hoop and the basketball that I am so used to?” I repeated to myself, now in a kind of angry sounding voice. “All I can see is Dr. Naismith and some other people, probably teachers like him. Were they supposed to be the fans? It doesn’t even look like any of the parents are hear watching their kids and once again where is the hoop and basketball.”

“Nice shot,” I hear one of the players say.

“Oh, so they use the peach baskets as hoops and that leather ball as the basketball,” I say to myself, now happier than ever because I found out what was troubling me this whole time. “Wow, this type of basketball is kind of stupid. Why would anybody play this?”

“Hurry, get back on defense,” says Dr. Naismith.

“Oh yeah, I have to get home,” I exclaim. “Now that I have seen what I want, I can get back into my time machine and go back to my current time, 2025. Wait, where is my time machine? It is gone. I left it right here by the court and now it is gone.” I shout as I examine the court for my ticket back home. “How am I going to get back? What am I going to do while I am here?” I wonder.

“Hey kid, do you want to play?” comes a voice from across the room.

“I can’t play now, I have to figure out how to get home. Also, why would I want to play a stupid game like that? It isn’t even real basketball. That is probably the last thing I would ever want to do.” I tell the kid.
“Oh come on. Why not? Nothing will happen. Don’t you want to play the first game of basketball?” He replies to my nasty comment.

“Well I guess, but just because I want to be a part of history,” I answer him.

“Three seconds left, down by one, and I am getting the ball,” I think to myself. “Wow, this is much more exciting then I thought it was going to be.”

Suddenly the room starts to spin. Flashing colors of green and blue paint the room. Then, I fall back into my room. “Wow, what just happened.”

“Are you okay,” my mom asks.

“Yeah, I think so. What year is this?” I ask as I am examining the very familiar room.

“2008. Are you sure you are okay?” she answers.

“Yeah, I am fine,” I confirm. “I must have come back to the first time I ever thought about the invention of basketball.”

    “What?” my mom asks.

    “Oh, nothing.”

“I guess I need to work a little more on my time machine…in seventeen years,” I think to myself.

I give snipinshoe four and a half stars out of five.

I liked how he incorporated some fun into it and how he had a test for the delegates there. Also, he had the population for women, men, and children for a few different years. He had the populations very precise and I liked that about it. I also like his way of government because it sounds like it would work without creating caos. The website was very fun to look at and all of the information was very god and it made sense. The only reason why I took off half of a star was because some of the information was hard to find and sometimes it was kind of hard to navigate through all of the information.

Joy is like a basketball, the one thing that everybody needs.

Without it, your life would be like a flat ball without any air,

unable to bounce, roll, and soar,

seeing the others fly through the net,

having the time of their lives,

but you are left there to just watch and listen.

Nothing in your life means anything until you blow yourself up,

and know that now you are flying through the hoop,

hearing for yourself the cheers and hollers from the crowd,

and realizing that now you are important

because without you, the game wouldn’t be able to be run at all.

Life has become more extended than ever before,

not just being able to follow others,

but to also lead them to new and unseen places,

places that if you had not started to bounce, roll, and soar,

places that if you had stayed deflated watching everybody else fly through the net,

would not have been found.
